Manele Bay, Lanai Hawaii

We're on our way to Manele Bay by way of the shuttle service that ran precisely every 15-30 minutes between the two resorts. Once again the highway is lined with the Cook pines as we wind down to Manele Bay which is 7 km away but took 20 minutes because the drivers adhered to the speed limit of 50km.

Cook Pines up on the top of this ridge that you can access by Jeep called the Monroe Trail but it was not accessible on the day we rented our Jeep due to heavy rainfall the night before.

The above picture is the resort hotel taken from the ocean side.

This is inside the lobby with the view of the ocean and the pool deck. I'm standing on the staircase to get this view.

Beautiful high ceiling decorated with an Asian flair. I love how they leave the door and window wide open to let the tropical breeze blow through.

A stunning view of the ocean and the pool side.

They had these covered lounge chairs with a great view of Hulopoe Bay. Below you'll notice a few 'tents' they offer a special romantic dinner with your own private server for $600.00 for the meal but not including the wine or tip! I took a peak inside one day and it was beautiful with cushions to sit on around a nice table and gorgeous white curtains framing the tent with quite a few candle holders giving a very romantic ambiance.

I just wanted to share the view from my beach chair as the sun was getting lower as our beach day was coming to an end.

More pictures inside Manele Bay Resort focusing on some of the art work.

The sun has just gone down so the umbrellas by the pool are all tucked in for the night.

This is the entrance to the Spa which we found very handy after a day at the beach we could shower and change into clean clothes for dinner at the Oceanside Grill beside the pool.

This is Hulopoe Bay which is just below the Manele Bay Resort. Just a short walk down a groomed path to the beach where you are greeted by the staff who will provide you with towels and the chair covers for the day. You can also use snorkeling gear or boogie boards etc. if you like.

Beautiful soft sand and the waves were so much fun!

Below is just a picture of our view along the beach looking west.

We got a nice table with a view of the bay at the Oceanside Grill. We had a great dinner that night! One the sun goes down this Hawaiian guy's job was to light all the torches all around the restaurant but also all along the pathway down to the beach.

We took a walk after dinner along the path down to the beach and it is so lovely at night with all the torches lit up. I wanted to show how lush and gorgeous it was along the path way and the picture below shows the path lined with torches, really neat, but it was too dark for our camera.

This is coming back from our walk on the beach and how pretty the pool and the hotel are at night. Some one is taking a evening dip in the pool.

We had dinner at Manele Bay in the Italian Cuisine restaurant called Hulope'e Court. It was on the second floor of the hotel with retaining wall full of these beautiful flowers! While we were having our dinner Martin noticed something fly down across the table as he noticed it's shadow. I was looking down at my plate taking a bite when I heard Martin say "here it is again"! and looked up and here was the biggest Moth I have ever seen!! It was as big as my hand and it was flapping it's very large wings right under Martin's nose, kinda caught between Martin's hand and nose just as he was taking a bite. It was remarkable and I was so surprised not only of it's grandier but of how calm Martin was through it all, quite the contrary had it been me!

This is the view from our table and it was just lovely. Manele Bay is a beautiful resort and we enjoyed the beach, happy hour at the Grill, the spa, the gorgeous view that we could watch the whales and the dolphins numerous times! One day the dolphins were really jumping and not just one at a time. It was like they were partying, really fun to see.
